Project overview:
The aim of this project is to explore the expressive possibilities of typography as a formal and textual element and to work with ready-made communication items, verbally and visually to create a new message.
Concept:
Using the visual images of three major forms of pollution, including urban pollution, air pollution, and water pollution, corporate with verbal expressions with a common theme, which is food. In this way, the new combination meaning now has a common theme, pollution.
Step 1
Finding three ready-made verbal expressions sharing a common theme, which is food. I found 'nest egg', 'hot potato', and 'brown bread.'
Step 2
Searching for images sharing a common theme, which is pollution.
Step 3
Using different approaches to display the featuring typeface in order to express the essential concept. I use repetition letterform shapes, size/scale, and cropping/bleed.
